Ut- Oh- Just so you know...

Hello Everyone, There is some kind of glitch in my blog and it won't let me accept anyone's comments and it won't let me post any comments on anyone else's blog. I have received some very nice comments, and I appreciate them, but when I try to accept them in my email it jumps me through tons of hoops saying things like it doesn't recognize my password -which I have repeatedly reset. I am so sorry.... Hopefully I can get this rectified soon.

Laurel's New Hobby

Laurel loves photography. She has been taking lots of pictures and she is also entering a photography contest at the local park. Let's keep our fingers crossed that she does well.

Toothbrusher

It's never too young to learn good dental hygiene!

Mamaw's Monkey

Little Trilby is a climber! I think she takes after her Uncle Dusty. She is 13 months old and if she can get a toe hold or a finger hold--up she goes. Here she is standing on top of her Mommy's table, cavaging the cereal!

Frozen Peas

My daughter-in-law Wendy went into the kitchen to check on the kids as they were being suspiciously quiet and found them munching away on frozen peas! You may remember an earlier post where she declared how much they LOVED frozen peas! Further proof!

How does my garden grow???

I planted cucumbers in baskets beside my garden. They are small pickling cucumbers so they should soon drape down out of the baskets. Thanks to Cheryl Byers for giving me this idea!
My upside down tomato baskets. I planted flowers in the tops of the baskets and the tomatoes through slits in the bottom.

A View of my Herb Garden from the bedroom window. (the white fence structure on the side of my garden is actually a trellis Chris built for my beans to climb up! We planted Kentucky Wonder Beans and last year these same beans grew so high we had to take a step ladder to pick them!)

Baby Girl...

Sometimes I see pictures of my granddaughter and it brings back such memories of me as a little girl. I can so remember sitting outside and feeding my mother's chickens. Deja vu'

Molly Mooching

While visiting with the kids this Easter weekend we went Molly Mooching- or better known as wild mushroom hunting! This is lovely Fern Clyffe Creek where we hunted. We hunted the delicious Morel Mushroom- known for its great taste!
The best part of the day was playing with the grandbabies though! (Howbeit we did enjoy Sunny, and Chris and Wendy as well!) Baby Trilby is all ready to go in her all terrain stroller!

The kids had a blast hunting with Papaw.

Mamaw enjoyed Molly Mooching as well.

Filling up the basket!

Laurel already knows how to find Morels on her own! See the one growing in front of her.

Time out for smooching the baby! Little Chris calls her outfit her groundhog suit!

Wonderful morels ready to pop in the skillet. Sauteed in warm butter, poured over steak (for them) and pasta (for me)- they were delicious!

You should all try molly mooching yourselves!

Ladies Retreat

The Kentucky Church of God Ladies Retreat was held in Lexington, Ky a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful! The services were awesome and it was great to spend time with good friends. Here are Nancy and I getting ready to leave! We stopped and picked up Joyce Hedges and had a great time visiting with her.

Margie, oh course, was our driver! A trip just wouldn't be a trip without Marg!

Nancy's sister-in-law Carol met us down there and I absolutely love her! She and I seemed to have so much in common!

Here is Margie all dressed up for the banquet. Doesn't she look pretty!
Here is Nancy in her Dr. Seuss pajammas!
Marg outside our motel.

Margie and I getting ready for service!
I ran into some old friends that I hadn't saw in ages! This is Wilma Branch, we used to be really close friends but didn't keep in touch as we should after she moved to Ohio.
This is Wilma Branch, Louise Pack (Joyce Hedges sister) Joyce Hedges, and her daughter Holly. It was nice to see Holly again also!

It was a wonderful trip and I so enjoyed it!

Such a Privilege...

As part of Black History Month my college celebrates Harmony Week. During this time we have guest speakers, wonderful celebrations, and interesting displays. I had the privilege of meeting and hearing a wonderful gentleman today. I will have to say he was one of the most inspirational speakers I have ever met. Rev. Samuel "Billy" Kyles was an eyewitness to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and is the only person still living to have spent the last hour with Dr. King. The Reverend Keyes spoke at the Logan Campus today and he filled my heart with joy and my eyes with tears. I cried over the injustices that he and his family had suffered and cheered for the message of hope he embraced. It was a wonderful day...

Our Favorite Valentines

St. Valentine's Day

I had a wonderful St. Valentine's Day today! I received some beautiful flowers from my wonderful husband. He sent 3 red roses, 3 yellow roses tipped in red, and 2 snow white roses. All the people at the florist were intriqued by the special message he wrote on the back of the card. They could not figure out what it meant...See if you can read the back of the card below and decipher his special message...
If you could not read his hand writing on the above card it said:
3 red roses for our first fruits we had so early,
3 yellow roses for the next generation with bright eyes and warm smiles,
2 white for our love everlasting....
Any guesses to its meaning??
Also we went to an antique store and he bought me the lovely picture below to hang in the middle bedroom. Who do you think the picture reminded us of?

Biscuit Eater

My daughter-in-law Wendy believes in the hands on approach to learning. She is teaching all of her children to cook. She sat Wils up on the table and turned him loose. I only hope they turn out to be half the cook their mother is. She is a culinary master!

Amazing Verse...

I came across this amazing verse and I found it so uplifting...

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9
